Investing in Education Across South Carolina

At South Carolina Federal Credit Union, we are deeply committed to ensuring the communities we serve thrive. One of the most significant components of a thriving community is education, which is why we are dedicated to addressing this ongoing need. Education is a cornerstone for children and young adults, and ultimately organizations that rely on an educated workforce. We take pride in supporting initiatives that promote learning and development throughout the state.

Here are some of the ways we support education in South Carolina:

  • Scholarship Program. Each year, we award a total of $45,000 in scholarships to nine students attending a technical or traditional college or university in South Carolina. Winners are selected based on academic achievement, community involvement, letter of recommendation, and financial need. Year after year, we are impressed by the applicants and their desire to use their education to make their communities an even better place to live and work.
  • 2023 Perfect ¢ents Campaign. Every time a member used their South Carolina Federal credit or debit card during our campaign, we donated two cents per transaction to seven Title I schools across the state. Through the campaign, we donated a total of $35,000, which provided students with essential resources, including supplies, uniforms, food pantries, and positive behavior incentives, ensuring they have the tools they need to succeed.
  • College Connections. Colleges across our great state play a critical role in their communities. We are proud to have great relationships with many of South Carolina's colleges and universities. We sponsor the Citadel's Zucker Family School of Education, which prepares the next generation of teachers, educators, and counselors. We also helped the College of Charleston expand its financial wellness program, which teaches students the basics of budgeting, saving, and managing debt. This year, we have the distinct pleasure to sponsor USC's Drumline on its journey to the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City. We are incredibly excited to help South Carolina students showcase their talents on such a grand stage!
  • Classroom Learning. We are sponsoring the South Carolina Aquarium's school program initiative this year, bringing interactive educational experiences focused on marine life and conservation to students across the state. These programs not only enrich students' understanding of the environment, but also foster a sense of appreciation for our natural resources.

Education will always be a priority for South Carolina Federal. We remain steadfast in our efforts to give back to our communities by investing in today's students and tomorrow's leaders. As a South Carolina Federal member, we thank you for sharing our commitment to making a lasting impact.
